Job Description:
Respiratory Care Specialist, Sleep & Cardiopulmonary Services
Washington State | Full-time | Rehabilitation-focused hospital setting
Some respiratory roles are routine. This one gives you a chance to work at the intersection of cardiopulmonary care, sleep medicine, patient recovery, and team leadership.
This is a strong opportunity for a respiratory care professional who enjoys hands-on patient care but also wants more ownership than a standard bedside role. You'll support patients of all ages, work through complex cardiopulmonary needs, and step into a role where your judgment, initiative, and clinical follow-through matter every day.
What you'll do?
- Help patients maintain or restore cardiopulmonary function by delivering respiratory care in line with physician orders, department protocols, and clinical standards
- Support sleep study-related care and testing, using your respiratory background and technical judgment to help guide accurate, patient-centered services
- Apply protocols and procedures to real clinical situations, including cases that require critical thinking, adaptability, and problem-solving
- Serve in a charge-style capacity at times, helping provide direction and support to a small team while staying close to patient care
- Work with patients across age groups in a rehabilitation-focused environment where respiratory care plays a meaningful role in recovery and quality of life
Why you should consider this role?
- This is a great fit if you want more than a task-based respiratory role and enjoy using both clinical skill and independent judgment
- You'll be part of a patient-centered environment built around whole-person care, collaboration, and respect for the voice of caregivers
- Eligible candidates may receive strong sign-on support, and relocation assistance may be available for those making a move
- The benefits package is designed to support your health, financial security, professional growth, and long-term stability
- For someone who wants to keep growing, this type of environment can offer exposure to more than one lane of respiratory care, including hands-on patient care, sleep medicine, technical testing, and charge-style team support
Who can be successful in this role?
- A graduate of an approved Respiratory Care program who is licensed, or able to be licensed, as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in Washington
- Someone with recent sleep study technology experience who enjoys the technical side of respiratory care and wants to keep growing in that space
- A respiratory care professional with BLS through the American Heart Association and the ability to complete a Sleep Disorders Specialty credential within the required timeframe
- Someone who is comfortable taking initiative, adjusting to changing patient needs, and applying clinical standards to situations that are not always black and white
- A steady, team-minded caregiver who can support patients, collaborate with colleagues, and step into light charge responsibilities when needed
